Better Market Street |

One of this pursuit's challenges was cat-herding a large, international, very enthusiastic team. I led the marketing effort in design, coordination, and production: developing of a layout that maximized real estate; art-directing the graphic designers; being a seminal contributor to interview strategy; and keeping the communication wheels greased during all three stages. Despite the tight turn-around, my oversight produced high-quality, responsive materials that helped win the project. |

I'm founder and captain. Our mission is not to appreciate bike culture, but to explore where it intersects with the built environment. I organize lunchtime bike tours, host guest speakers, and send out regular communiques to members (now in four offices nationwide). But we're not just in it for the intellectual exercise -- thanks to a grant I wrote, the Perkins+Wheelers are designing and building a bike-friendly parklet in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood, to be completed this spring. Stay tuned! Location --> Pavement to Parks Program --> |

On this pursuit I played the same collaborative leadership role as I had for Better Market Street. This time, I worked directly with our incomparable client, Mission Bay Development Group, rigorously helping to achieve a document that, against all odds, is perfectly error-free. Landscape architect Brian Jencek of Hargreaves said, "all I can say is how proud I feel to be a part of such a top notch effort. The proposal artifact, let alone its contents, is clear, professional, and fresh." |
